Looking for a unique Birthday or Christmas present for the junior explorer in your life? Why not give them the chance to get face to fin with some of the coolest creatures in the ocean?

At Blue Planet Aquarium, we have special kid-sized scuba gear, allowing children to have an up-close experience with our amazing sharks!

Your dinky diver will head, completely supervised, to the reef section of the Ocean tank for the once in a lifetime experience of diving with black tip reef sharks and a variety of tropical fish.

Our underwater bridge platform means junior dives will take place at a safe depth of two metres. You’ll be able to see their dive with a birds eye view on the tank’s surface, or in our aqua tunnel – don’t worry though, you’ll remain on dry land throughout!

Junior shark encounter experiences are packed to the gills with the following:

  • Full instructions and expert supervision
  • Full use of a special children’s scuba kit
  • Free entry for an accompanying spectating adult
  • Guaranteed close-up shark encounters

Junior Dive encounters are available on Saturday and Sunday mornings, at 8.30am unless otherwise stated.

Please note: Bookings are limited and are on a first come first served basis

For kids aged 8 to 15 Please note: There is a minimum height requirement of 125cm (4ft2″)

BOOK NOW

Once you’ve booked your voucher, call our bookings team on 0151 357 8804 to confirm a date for your dive.

General terms and conditions apply.

N.B. If you complete the shark encounter, it is recommended that you wait at least 24 hours before flying. This is because the residual nitrogen that is still dissolved in your blood after diving can come out of solution as bubbles if the pressure reduction is not slow enough to let your body off-gas safely – such as if you ascend to altitude too soon after your dive.
