Junior Shark Dives

Adult Shark Dives take place on Saturday and Sundays with slots at 11am, 1pm and 3pm (subject to change). Junior Shark Encounters take place on Sundays at 10am and 11am, and on selected days during school holidays.

Juniors are kitted out in wet suits to dive and consequently you should be prepared for whatever you wear under the suit to get wet. We would recommend that you wear a swimsuit, or t-shirt and shorts or leggings for the dive and bring along a towel and set of warm clothes for when you come out of the water.

Adult divers are kitted out in dry suits, however it cannot be guaranteed that the suit will keep you completely dry. We would recommend that you wear a swimsuit, or t-shirt and shorts or leggings for the dive that may get wet and bring along a towel and set of warm clothes for when you come out of the water.

We will always be happy to look at finding an alternative slot if you need to change your Shark Dive booking. However if the request is with two weeks of the original appointment we would charge an administration fee of £25 to transfer the booking.

After being taken to the dive area with our team, the divers will go through some training. This can take from 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the experience of the person diving. Our Visitor Services team will endeavour to keep you informed on their progress with the training and when we expect them to enter the water.

This document is a very important part of the Shark Dive preparation process. It aims to identify individuals that may require advice from a medical practitioner to dive. If the Questionaire identifies criteria that require a medical practitioner’s advice to dive and the Medical Examiner’s Evaluation Form section is not completed we would not be able to proceed with the dive.

The Junior Shark Encounter prices includes one free spectator and the Adult Shark Encounter includes two free spectators. If you require more spectators to be admitted we have a discounted Spectator admission rate please enquire when arriving at Deep Sea World with your diver.

Our Shark Experiences is a PADI-recognised discovery scuba session, where you’ll learn basic diving techniques from a highly qualified and experienced team and so is suitable for absolute beginners.

It is not advisable to touch the shark and our diver tenders will assist you to maintain a safe distance whilst still being able to observe them closely from within the water. Prior to entering the water you will receive a brief about the animals present and how you should behave to ensure the safety and comfort of yourself and the aquarium inhabitants.

Please discuss with the dive instructor, in some circumstances you are able to wear a camera on your person to passively film during the Shark Encounter.
